The Suloev Stretch is a spectacular submission hold named after MMA fighter Amar Suloev. It is typically initiated from back control, often when the attacker has one hook in. The attacker grabs the opponent's free leg (the one not hooked) and pulls it forcefully towards the opponent's head. This action creates an excruciating stretch on the hamstring and also hyperextends the lower back (lumbar spine), forcing a tap from two points of pressure. It is a rare but highly effective submission in both MMA and no-gi grappling.
