Alternate names: Inner Thigh Void Throw

Technique Description

Uchi Mata Sukashi, known as the 'Inner Thigh Void Throw', is an advanced counter technique employed when an opponent attempts an Uchi Mata (Inner Thigh Throw). As they try to lift your leg with their inner thigh, you evade their attack by swiftly shifting your weight and 'voiding' the space where their leg was aiming. This is often achieved by hopping or pivoting on your supporting leg, causing their Uchi Mata to miss its target. While evading, you maintain a strong grip on their upper body, typically the collar and sleeve, to control their posture and prevent them from regaining balance. The sudden absence of resistance caused by the 'sukashi' or void throws the opponent off balance, making them fall forward and creating an opportunity for a follow-up attack or transition.
