Tsurikomi Goshi, often called the 'Lift-Pull Hip Throw,' is a powerful technique that combines lifting, pulling, and hip rotation to throw the opponent. It is similar to Tsuri Goshi but places greater emphasis on the pulling action and the use of the lapel grip. To execute Tsurikomi Goshi, establish a firm grip on the opponent's sleeve and lapel. Lower your hips and step across their body with your lead leg, positioning your hip against theirs. Use your lapel grip to pull the opponent upwards and towards you, breaking their balance and posture. Simultaneously, use your sleeve grip to control their movement and guide them over your hip. Rotate your body and use your hip as a fulcrum to complete the throw. The lifting and pulling action, combined with the hip rotation, makes Tsurikomi Goshi a very effective technique.
