/Overview

The Technical Mount, or S-Mount, represents one method among a group of top control-based dominant and powerful positions. Commonly and widely used against other forms to completely limit defensive plays, it utilizes precise position-based skills with a lower, close base. Setups occur by making sure one knee area sits and rests at or around their hip location at top control when performing, while one foot steps or transitions into that area above a head while the user's other lower limb is secured towards their own base as an added and necessary control element while you attack from above. With the body positioned carefully at their chest or shoulder for extra pressure-based leverage for control against all forms of attacks and while manipulating limbs for maximum and effective control and position maintenance through multiple holds that reduce most escapes. The controlling positions allow transitions in various ways, using this strong form to switch from traditional mount while maintaining strong, body-based submissions like a transition into a cross-body triangle/armbar setup, which uses this positional area as a perfect basis for setups in transitional form. With practice and better understanding, transitions using it also increase, as does efficiency. The technical mount may be achieved by trapping your opponents arm.
