The False Reap is a leg entanglement position primarily used for setting up heel hooks in no-gi grappling. Unlike a traditional reap where the leg crosses the opponent's centerline (often illegal under certain rulesets), the false reap places the attacker's reaping leg on the outside of the opponent's hip. This provides strong control over the opponent's leg and hip mobility, making it a safe and effective platform for finishing leg locks.
