Double ankle sweep

Technique Description

The double ankle sweep is used as a low-positioned based technique that relies heavily on targeting the lower half in an attempt to destabilize an opponent who is stood at an advantage. It uses two ankle area grips to force their weight off their center, leading into a top transitional sweeping action. Initiating this movement starts in almost any lower form of controlling position. After choosing grips, such as with both hands, directly engage onto your opponent's ankle. With that grasp of the two ankle locations, you will bring both your limbs onto their body (such as around both of their thighs in most situations). From here, push and actively off-balance with well-timed and accurate scissor-style actions while simultaneously controlling your upper torso or core while pulling their chest and upper parts of their bodies forward. Done effectively, this should unbalance even an aware top-positioner as it manipulates pressure and base on two points, therefore making it more difficult to counter.
