Twister

1 / 3
/Overview

The Twister is a high-torque spinal lock submission, famously associated with Eddie Bravo and the 10th Planet system. Typically set up from 'The Truck' position, it involves trapping one of the opponent's legs while simultaneously controlling their upper body and head, then forcefully twisting them in opposite directions. This generates extreme rotational pressure on the spine and neck, making it highly effective but also controversial. Due to the inherent danger, the Twister is illegal in most major BJJ competitions (like IBJJF).
