Toe Hold

1 / 3
/Overview

The toe hold is an advanced leg lock technique that targets the ankle and foot, capable of causing significant pain and potential injury if not applied carefully. It involves gripping the opponent's toes and using a twisting, rotational, and hyperflexing motion to manipulate the ankle joint. To apply a toe hold, secure control of the opponent's leg and use grips to move their foot. Grab the toes and flex/bend their foot, rotating it at the ankle while bringing it upwards. This motion can effectively break the foot and compress the ankle ligaments, leading to intense pain and a quick submission. Due to the risk of injury, extreme caution is advised when learning and practicing this move. Toe holds are often set up from 50/50 guards and other advanced leg lock positions.
