The paper cutter choke is a gi submission that targets the opponent's neck using the gi collar. It is usually applied from dominant positions such as side control or mount. To perform the technique, gain grips on the opponent's collars. With one hand, grip firmly under one side of the collar, and with your free hand, secure a palm-up grip over the opposing side. Maintain full control of the opponent's body while bringing them downward. Drive your grip deep under their neck from the base you've made with the side grips. Forcefully drive the newly gripped collar into the pressure point from your base grip, applying intense strangulation to the opponent's neck. This significantly restricts blood flow, forcing a tap if done correctly.
