The loop choke, sometimes called the 'rodado choke,' is a versatile collar choke commonly applied from various guard positions, particularly the open and cross guard. Starting from the guard, bring the middle of your forearm against the back of the opponent's neck, passing it across to the far side, creating a loop with your arm. Grip one of their collars with your free hand and pull. Bring your body closer, forcing more pressure into the front of their throat. A strong and controlled twisting motion that pulls in the collar while maintaining control will tighten the noose. Use your body weight as additional pressure to restrict airflow, quickly forcing a tap.
