The Helicopter Choke is a dynamic gi choke primarily initiated from back control or when attacking a turtled opponent. It involves securing a deep cross-collar grip and then executing a forward roll over the opponent's shoulder or back. This rolling motion uses momentum and leverage to aggressively tighten the choke, often while transitioning the attacker to a more dominant top position (like mount) to secure the finish. The name derives from the spinning visual created during the roll.
