Estima Lock

The Estima Lock is a powerful foot lock submission popularized by brothers Victor and Braulio Estima. It is typically applied from the closed guard by trapping the opponent's foot and ankle. The attacker uses their shin across the top of the opponent's foot and secures a figure-four grip on their own shin with their hands. By extending their hips and pulling on the figure-four, immense pressure is applied to the instep and ankle, forcing a quick tap. Its deceptive setup, often flowing from a triangle choke attempt, makes it a highly effective and surprising attack in modern BJJ and submission grappling.
