Calf Slicer

akaCalf Crusher
1 / 3
/Overview

The calf slicer, also known as the calf crusher, is a leg lock submission that targets the calf muscle through compression. The technique involves creating extreme tension that results in a submission. To begin, secure one of the opponent's legs by placing your shin tightly behind their knee or trapping their lower leg with your forearms. Use this positioning to forcefully compress the calf muscles against the tibia bone, forcing a tap due to the intense pressure. This maneuver is often set up from superior positions such as back control or the truck, but can be equally applied from inferior positions. Although the intended target is the muscle rather than a joint the correct positioning will usually target the knee. The position this is secured from, the nature of the technique and the way force is applied, make the calf slicer a dangerous option to those unaware of its application.
