Koshi Guruma

akaHip Wheel
1 / 1
/Overview

Koshi Guruma, commonly referred to as the 'Hip Wheel,' is a dynamic throw that involves wrapping one arm around the opponent's neck while using your hip as a pivot point to throw them. To perform Koshi Guruma, establish a grip on the opponent's sleeve with one hand. With your other arm, reach around their neck and secure a firm grip on their far shoulder or upper back. Lower your hips and step across their body with your lead leg, positioning your hip against theirs. Use your arm around their neck to pull them towards you and break their balance. Simultaneously, rotate your body and use your hip as a fulcrum to throw them over your hip in a circular motion. The combination of the neck wrap, hip rotation, and pulling action creates a powerful and visually impressive throw.
