Kibisu Gaeshi

akaOne Hand Reversal
1 / 1
/Overview

Kibisu Gaeshi, also known as the 'Heel Trip Reversal', is a hand technique that involves tripping or sweeping the opponent's heel to take them down. To perform Kibisu Gaeshi, establish a strong grip on your opponent's sleeve and collar while maintaining close proximity. As they step forward or attempt to off-balance you, quickly drop to one knee and reach for their rear heel or ankle with your free hand. Using a swift pulling or hooking motion, trip their heel, disrupting their balance and causing them to fall backward. The timing and coordination between your upper body control and the heel trip are crucial for executing this technique effectively. It's often used as a counter to forward-moving attacks or when the opponent has a high stance, and the heel trip is applied with precision using either your right hand on your opponents right leg, or your left hand on the opponents left leg.
