Knee Bar

1 / 4
/Overview

The kneebar is a dangerous and potentially injurious leg lock that targets the knee joint. It is often set up from the 50/50 position or during transitions when attempting leg entanglements. To apply the kneebar, lock or pin the opponent's foot and lift their leg upwards. Rotate your hips and bring the leg against your knee, securing one or both of their legs tightly. Bring the limb between your legs to control any counter-movements. Lift your hips while extending and bending the knee outwards. This stretches the opponent's ligaments, creating a vulnerable position that can lead to a quick submission, especially for experienced leg lock practitioners. Extreme care should be taken when practicing this technique to avoid serious injury.
