The Folding Pass is a guard passing technique in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where the passer specifically collapses one of the opponent's legs inwards towards their torso, effectively 'folding' it. Typically initiated against open guards, the passer controls the opponent's leg (often at the shin or knee) and pushes it across the opponent's centerline while simultaneously controlling the upper body (e.g., with an underhook or cross-face) or the far leg to prevent reguarding. This folding action neutralizes the trapped leg's defensive capabilities and creates an opening for the passer to advance their position, usually transitioning into side control.
