The Crucifix is a dominant back-control position in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where the attacker completely immobilizes the opponent. From the opponent's back, the attacker uses their legs to triangle and trap one of the opponent's arms while using their own arms to control the other. This forces the opponent into a cross-like shape, leaving both of their arms isolated and rendering them unable to defend chokes. The position offers extremely high-percentage submission opportunities, primarily collar chokes and neck cranks, making it one of the most powerful and demoralizing pins in grappling.
